The start of this semesters’ Science Kitchen will be an excursion to the CARLsGARTEN at the interim site of Schauspiel Köln in Mülheim.

Lateral Drift

The vegetable garden in the city is a utopia. Even your own home-grown and harvested cucumber does not meet the EU standard. Does it taste differently than the cucumber from the grocery store? We are dealing with the construction and deconstruction of flavor. In simple experiments we are going to manipulate, test and explore our sense of smell and taste.

In der Stadt ist auch der Nutzgarten eine Utopie, die selbst geerntete Gurke entspricht nicht der EU-Norm. Schmeckt sie auch anders als die Gurke aus dem Supermarkt? Wir befassen uns mit der Konstruktion und der Dekonstruktion von Geschmack. In einfachen Experimenten manipulieren, testen und erkunden wir unseren Geschmackssinn.
