Mneme at lab30

Mneme is a Liquid Memory Scape. As a metaphor, it can be seen as crystallizing the process of my memory. This attempt at transformation between immateriality and materiality is not meant as a representation of an image but as an embodiment of the specific track of my condition in a time when my memory was quite ambivalent.

15 glass sheets stand in a glass bowl filled with chemical liquid (iron (II) sulfate heptahydrate). In between each glass sheet are an anode and cathode and each individual channel refers to a region of the EEG (electro-encephalogram machine). The brain waves are recorded and amplified for electrolysis. Thus the crystal is formed and grows in a time sequence.

Mneme is me.

Discorobots Workshop at Shinytoys

image
  • 18.10. - 21.10.2012
  • Shinytoys space, Bollwerk 107 Moers

There are still some places left in the discorobot workshop that will be offered by Christian Faubel, Cordula Körber and Tina Tonagel as part of the Shinytoys Space at Bollwerk 107 in Moers. The workshop starts saturday at 1 pm.

In the disco robot workshop you build little micro-core based analog walking robots that you then transform into little dancing machines. analog walking robots are perfect dance animators. the feedback of the motors modifies the timing of the pattern generator circuit that drives the walking. their moves have a lot of variance that seems to be driven by self-will.
